Arriving by train
The nearest station is Windermere (there are regular connections to Windermere from Oxenholme – which is the nearest mainline station). Taxis are available at the station to transport you on the short journey to your hotel where there are free shuttle buses running on a loop to bring you to the festival site (from 11.30am).
On Thursday morning, please check out of your hotel and hop on a shuttle bus to the festival site. We will bring your luggage to the festival site where you can collect it before leaving.
Arriving by car
Please check-in to your hotel before the festival starts and leave your car at your hotel. Free festival shuttle buses will be running from your hotel to bring you to the festival site. There is no parking at the festival site (unless you are staying at Cragwood Hotel). If for any reason you can’t check-in before you arrive then festival parking is available at Merewood Hotel – where free shuttle buses will be running to the festival site.
On Thursday morning, please check out of your hotel, leave your luggage in your car and hop on a free shuttle bus to the festival. When the festival ends, there will be shuttle buses to take you back to your car.
Free shuttle buses
We will provide free shuttle buses to and from your hotel to the festival site from 11:30am on Tuesday throughout Learnfest.
When & Where
Learnfest will take place at Cragwood Country House Hotel, Windermere. Exact dates for 2021 TBD.
What to wear
Think Festival! Pack comfortable, casual clothing – jeans, t-shirts, trainers and flips flops.
A warm jumper and a waterproof jacket are essentials, as is comfortable footwear.
During Learnfest you can try your hand at a range of activities, some of which involve the lake! So please pack swimwear if you want to take part in these activities. Specialist equipment, e.g. wetsuits, boots etc will be provided.
Food & Drink
You’ll be well fed and watered during Learnfest! All food is included (breakfast at your hotel on Wednesday and Thursday; lunches on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday; and dinner on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings). All festival food is buffet style and is packed full of fresh, local produce, variety and flavour! To keep your energy up, we’ve kept lunches nice and light (think salads and BBQ) and dinner is a more indulgent affair (think Jamaican and Mexican!).
Tea, coffee, fruit cordials and water are on tap throughout the festival (included in your festival ticket package). Wine is provided with dinner and all other drinks are paid for (please note the bar is cash only).
The Tipi Bar, overlooking Lake Windermere and the Langdale Fells, opens at 18:30 on Tuesday and 17:30 on Wednesday.
Do you have any dietary requirements?
Please ensure you inform us of these in advance via this form.
Security
Your safety at Learnfest is our top priority and there are just a few things we have put in place to ensure you have a safe and happy festival:
- please bring ID (something with your name on it!) and be ready to show it when you arrive at the festival (we’ll just check it on the registration desk)
- once you arrive and register at Learnfest you will be given a name badge and a festival wrist band – please wear these at all times. They look cool and they also allow us to spot who should or shouldn’t be on the festival site.
- please be prepared for random bag searches – so it will be best if you just bring with you the things you will need for that day
